METAWATER USA, INC., was established on January 1, 2013, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of METAWATER Co. Ltd. that was a leading engineering company in water/wastewater treatment and the largest supplier of ceramic membrane filtration systems and ozone generation systems in Japan.

Speaking the history of our water business, FUJI ELECTRIC CORP. OF AMERICA, a base in the United States of FUJI ELECTRIC group, entered to the North America water and reclamation market dated back to the late 1990's with the introduction of the MicroGap^TM ozone process technology and provided the most robust and reliable advanced water treatment equipment/processes for disinfection, taste and odor removal for major municipalities in Boston MA, San Diego CA, Orlando FL, Province of Ontario and numerous other installations throughout the United States and Canada.

On April 1, 2013, the ozone business in the United States and Canada was transferred from FUJI ELECTRIC CORP. OF AMERICA to METAWATER USA, INC.

On January 15, 2016, METAWATER USA, INC. merged Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. whose HQ was located in Illinois and was a leader in adaptive water management solutions for municipal and industrial markets worldwide, since 1969. Their expertise in aeration and mixing, biological processes, cloth media filtration, membranes, disinfection, and control and monitoring systems allows them to provide the markets with adaptive water management solutions at the lowest life cycle cost.

Effective, May 1, 2016, METAWATER USA, INC. transferred the business operations concerning ozone generation systems and ceramic membrane filtration systems to Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. and became a holding company to oversee and manage business activities and the assets of the METAWATER USA group.

On April 1, 2020, Wigen Companies, Inc./A.k.a. Wigen Water Technologies, joined in the METAWATER USA group. Wigen Companies, Inc. founded in 1965 in the state of Minnesota is a best-in-class supplier of custom water treatment and purification systems with nearly 4,000 successful installations worldwide, serving a wide range of clients for applications including drinking water, filtration, reuse and complex process water needs.
